Terms of Service
These terms govern use of Watchalot, LLC and transactions conducted through the Watchalot marketplace. They remain subject to final legal review before public launch.
Marketplace role
Watchalot provides technology for watch collectors to interact and transact. Unless clearly stated otherwise, watches are listed and sold by independent users, not Watchalot. Users are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listings and conduct.
Binding sale terms and cancellation
When buyer and seller accept the displayed sale terms, the transaction is binding subject to Watchalot policies and applicable law. An ordinary cancellation requires mutual agreement unless Watchalot permits cancellation under a disclosed cancellation process, which may include a cancellation fee. Payment failure, fraud, authentication findings, material misrepresentation, nonperformance, protected refund rights, or other policy-based remedies are not treated as ordinary voluntary cancellations.
Transparent seller fees
Unless a different fee is clearly disclosed before agreement, Watchalot charges the seller a 5% Platform Fee based on the applicable sale price. Watchalot will disclose marketplace fees rather than hiding them. The Platform Fee is separate from payment-processing costs, shipping, insurance or coverage costs, authentication costs, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, dispute costs, and authorized transaction adjustments.
Payment-processing costs
Watchalot uses third-party payment providers, including Stripe. Where processing costs are charged to Watchalot's platform account, the seller authorizes Watchalot to recover applicable processing costs attributable to the seller's transaction from amounts otherwise payable to the seller, to the extent permitted by law. Processing costs are accounted for separately from the 5% Platform Fee.
Seller proceeds may therefore be calculated as: Sale Price − 5% Platform Fee − Applicable Payment-Processing Costs ± Authorized Transaction Adjustments.
Authentication choices and costs
A listing may state that the seller will provide authentication. If the seller commits to authentication as part of the listing or agreed sale terms, the seller is responsible for the applicable authentication cost unless a different allocation is clearly agreed before the sale becomes binding. If seller-provided authentication was not included but buyer and seller mutually add Watchalot transaction authentication, the authentication cost will ordinarily be divided equally unless the agreed transaction terms state otherwise.
A buyer may decline authentication where Watchalot permits an opt-out, but must do so before fulfillment or authentication begins and may be required to acknowledge the additional risk. Once authentication is included in binding transaction terms, it cannot ordinarily be removed unilaterally.
Seller-provided authentication
A seller may obtain authentication independently and submit supporting evidence to Watchalot for review. Watchalot may require the report, authenticator identity, date, photographs, reference or serial evidence where appropriate, and other documentation. Seller-provided authentication must not be represented as reviewed or approved by Watchalot until Watchalot accepts the submitted evidence. Review of documentation is not a manufacturer warranty or an unconditional guarantee of authenticity. Fabricated, altered, or materially misleading authentication evidence may be treated as serious marketplace fraud.
Shipping
The seller may offer Seller-Paid Shipping or Buyer-Paid Shipping as disclosed in the listing or agreed transaction terms. Sellers must ordinarily tender an eligible sold item for shipment within two business days unless a different deadline is disclosed for that transaction.
Shipping coverage and signatures
Watchalot recommends shipping coverage up to the full transaction value whenever available. If the responsible party knowingly selects coverage below the transaction value, Watchalot may require an acknowledgement showing the transaction value, selected coverage, and uninsured exposure. To the extent permitted by law and the applicable carrier or insurer terms, the party responsible for the under-insurance assumes the loss attributable to the voluntarily uninsured portion. Watchalot may require signature confirmation or stronger delivery controls for transactions above designated value thresholds.
Seller payments
Completion of a sale does not mean funds are immediately transferred to the seller. Watchalot may delay seller funds until payment, shipping, authentication when applicable, buyer inspection, and open dispute or refund requirements have been satisfied. Payout eligibility and initiation of a seller transfer are separate events.
Refunds, chargebacks, and reversals
Watchalot may hold seller funds while a refund, chargeback, reversal, authentication problem, or dispute is reviewed. Where a loss results from seller misrepresentation, seller nonperformance, or another seller-attributable cause, the seller may be responsible for applicable transaction, processing, dispute, chargeback, or recovery costs to the extent permitted by law. Watchalot should bear costs attributable solely to Watchalot's own error where required by law or Watchalot policy.
Dispute escalation and amounts owed
Transaction participants should first attempt good-faith resolution with each other through Watchalot. If they cannot resolve the matter, the Watchalot team may intervene and review available evidence. If the matter remains unresolved, the parties retain lawful remedies subject to applicable agreements and law. A valid financial obligation owed to Watchalot may be pursued through lawful recovery or collection processes and, when appropriate, legal action. Non-financial disputes may proceed through applicable legal remedies. Nothing in these terms creates a debt where no legally enforceable amount is owed.
External listings and links
Third-party listings and services linked by Watchalot are not operated by Watchalot. Purchases completed outside Watchalot are governed by the third party's terms and do not receive Watchalot transaction protections unless expressly stated.
Legal review
Final arbitration, governing-law, venue, class-action waiver, formal notice, and related provisions will be confirmed with legal counsel before public launch. Watchalot intends disputes to be handled individually rather than as class proceedings to the extent enforceable under applicable law.
